What do you guys do after church or for those who do not go to church - what do YOU do on Sundays?
I'm pretty much bored or a couch potato waiting for Monday!

invite some family members over for a cookout and sit and visit all day and if they are still there at night get some bug spray and sit around a fire roast marshmallows.or goto the beach and chill out all day.

Mini, I am so glad you try to live this commandment - even though you seem to be just a couch potato!!
But let me tell you that although theLord says it is a day to rest from your labors and to remember Him, he does not want you living as a couch potato!!
He is not one for us to be just idling away our time til Mondays!
He wants us engaged in His work.

But for a moment, let me just tell you what a great Sunday we had!

Our Churfch is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
So, we attended that Church today - our local ward!
But before church began today, I was contacted by the clerk asking that the Stake President wanted to see me about 8.30am - before church.
In essence, I was released at that interview from my current 'calling' in the Church, with a vote of thanks.
[Don't worry ... the Lord has another for me - but He knew more than they that I had a heart operation coming up next week - which would take months to fully recover from, PLUS we settled on our new property that we have just bought only 2 days ago - they didn't know of that either!!! ... But the Lord is in control].

Following this release, we had our sacrament service.
Today was our once a month service, wherein we get up [if we feel so moved] and bear our testimonies of God and truth and personal experiences.
Today I felt moved to go up and speak.
Following this meeting we had Sunday School. We have classes for all ages.
The 3rd meeting is where males and females are separated and enjoy their specific instructions or topics for discussion.
This all takes 3 hours.
You can choose to attend what you wish, but nearly all attend the lot.

I have7 children - some with families of their own.

After getting permission to grab some chairs from the bishop, our family gathered 'goodies' from home [we had bought some yesterday and made others], and all entouraged off to our new home, that most of them had not yet seen on the other side of melbourne, where we live.
Travel takes about an hour each way.

We had a great time there checking everything out and discussing it, and what else we'd need to attend to during the week.
We had some fun goodies, listened to some music one of my sons recorded in the recording studio during the week [He's a performer of dance music], and eventually, packed up the chairs and other things and came home.
If it was not that we were expecting a call from someone, we would have gone to the choir practice at 6.30pm.

My brother rang from Queensland later ... we had a quick bite, read scriptures, had a family prayer, and now I'm talking to you and it's after 11pm!!

That's today.

But other days, we usually get 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon, to rest or 'nap', as we call it.
Because we also believe in work for the dead in our ho;y temples [as separate from church meeting houses], we also do family history work, we write to missionaries in the mission field, we go to visit the sick in hospitals - especially, family or those in the Church, we study the works from authorities in our church, we learn of the Gospel and do private study, visit family, or write to others further away.
We can read good books [not school study], listen to good music, or that of our 'world famous' Mormon Tabernacle Choir, or we can play the piano or compose music of our own.
Very occasionally, we also play board games.

Basically, we believe Sunday to be a 'family day'; so we do as much together as possible.
Sometimes, we'll have a short drive together.
And somewhere in there we fit dinner and lunch!
We also have Church callings that often need tending to on Sundays.

So is that enough for you to do on Sunday??

After church we generally have a bunch of people over. We grill, play volley ball, softball, and if raining cards. When the majority of people leave (around 6ish), we start a fire in the back and relax with the closest friends. That is how to do a Sunday my friend.

Get together with family or friends for a potluck. At least once a month is fun. Everyone brings meat for their family and one side dish to share. Then you put it on the table and share everything. It's great, easy to do, and not a lot of burden on one person to do the cooking.
