How do I make my work pc remote desktop and be able to access it from my home pc?

The simplest solution is a VNC (Virtual Network Connection) software...

Alternatives are services like "gotomypc," but why pay $20 per month per computer for a FREE alternative?

You can also use software like "pcanywhere," but again, an expensive solution that is not really any better than the free ones offered below!

open My Computer
right-click on it > click properties > click "Remote"
check "allow users to connect remotely to this machine"
it will default to allow whatever user you are currently logged in as to log into the box.

since this is your work PC, you may need to ask them to map ports, or get vpn access, or you will have to set up a reverse tunnel of sorts.

I have found it much easier, safer and more efficient to use Symantec PC anywhere.
