...when somebody told you that you can count on him, but once you tell him that you feel down he tells you that he doesn't have any time to listen to sad stuff.

it's even sad to think that they can't see the fact that you trust them...
i don't know how to handle situations like this. a lot of people tell me that keeping the hurt inside will just cause more pain. but once try to let it out, most of them will just say "smile, okay? gotta go now bye". it certainly is ironic...

He is not commited. Its good that accidently you came to know the truth. If you would have not come to know now then you would still be counting on him for support. There is a saying "Buy slippers which you can wear in all weathers". Similarly keep friends with people who are with you in all weathers ie. all aspects of your life (good - to have fun with/ bad- to give you a shoulder to cry)

You will always be let down if you need people to count on. There are no 2 people on this earth that have the same motives.
"Keep your friends close but your enemies closer" rely on the strength in you to get you through. You can always count on yourself. If this seems to lonely get a dog or a cat. They will always miss yo when your gone and happy to see you when you get home. All I'm saying here is be your own best friend as for as your question I would feel sorry for them. they just don't get it.

This is indeed a sad situation. Maybe you should reconsider your options. Butk, maybe, he has sme issues within himself that stops himself from reaching out and comfortng you. I know that is not a popular answer but then sometimes we do have to look at his side too. Still, go with your gut feeling. Giving some leeway is good but that doesnt mean you should be a slave to a bad situation huh?

Find someone who genuinely cares about how you feel to confide in. Ask yourself just what this individual meant by "count on" for! If you are a woman, really watch out. He's probably thinking with the wrong head!

I know what you mean, that is most people´s experience with other people. That´s how you learn to appreciate a real friend when you find it. I personally have had both experiences, that is, friends that are not real but also real friends. ´´A real friend can be closer than a brother´´; i read that in the book of proverbs. I´ve been told that refers to Jesus, well, He really qualifies to be my friend. God bless you!!!
