A DJ is short for Disc Jockey. It's a name for a male or female who plays music for people. DJ's can be found on the radio stations, can be found at parties, receptions, family reunions and dances. DJ's don't have to be professionals either. They can be amateurs too. Anyone that knows how to play CD's, cassette tapes or records can be a DJ.
Good luck and I hope I was some what helpful!
