i think so yes. because everything you are including your personality is dependent in your physical ability. people that are healthier are more active than others that are not. sometimes disabled people are very successful too such as Steven Hawkins. the reason they are is because they dedicate all their energy to one part of their body and that part becomes unusually active, in Hawkins case its his brain because its just about the only part which he controls, that's why he is so clever. if you have notice, people that are very Strong are not very clever because they don't need to put their energy to thinking in order to survive but into fighting.

I am more than my body and less than what I dream to be. My external appearance does not in any way reveal to the world what I am on the inside. We are different and yet, it seems, I spend my life striking a balance between the two - the body and the soul/ the inner me. So, I am not my body. I just use my body as home while on this realm.

I can only speak for myself -- but yes, I am.

They say there is a soul that ascends to heaven like a little wobbly bubble. That is very poetic, and I would like to compose a song about that.

Unfortunately, I cannot compose music and I cannot sing. I cannot even compose poetry. However, I often read Finnegans Wake by James Joyce, it contains some nice poetry and a lot of wonderful prose...

I once asked someone whether my emotions go with my soul when it begins its long arduous wobbly ascent into heaven. But that person wisely perceived that one question leads to another and another, and pretty soon things get very roily; and so we just left it on the poetic level.

That person perceived correctly, cause I was fixing to ask a whole slough of gnarly questions, like: And what about my personality (in its entirety)? And what about the effect of my age of my personality at the time of my death? And what about about my memory (since we all know memory depends on certain brain functions)? And on and on.

Once you start asking these questions you can't quit; and the people who believe in soul-bubbles can get very annoyed.

No, my body is part of what makes up "me" it's not all that makes up "me."
The person I am is made up of what I do, who I love, my accomplishments, my failures, my interests and my dislikes...My family, my friends, my work, my spirit.

My body didn't even make the list...although I'm told it's a good body to have. I don't spend a lot of time worrying about it.

Of course not. My body stops growing after 20 but I continue to learn and advance in other areas.

What is seen is never the whole story.

You are the sum of all your impressions, i.e., - your whole world.

EDIT:

Though *within* that world, I certainly identify with my body. One cannot identify with one's whole world, because there is nothing besides it to interact with. However, my body, of course, is as material as the keyboard I type this on. My "spirit" is my conscious mind, which is a function of my brain; and my "soul" is the objectification of my spirit - its "self-image", so to say.

Are you your body?
Are you your mind?
Are we just here on borrow time?

Are we made of bones and flesh?
Is our brain just a spongey mesh?

Judge me not by looks or other.
Judge me not my sister or brother.

Accept me for the total being.
Stop wasting your life and do something!

My body is just my outer shell. I am what is onside. I am how I live my life and how I treat others.
