Gold of any kind is bad for initial healing, it is a pourus metal and as such harbors bacteria while some people get lucky and heal ok with gold it is a gamble. You should be using titaium implant grade or surgical stainless steel 316LVM implant grade or if you have metal allergies then PTFE implant grade (it's medical grade teflon).

I'd go with Silver for your first.
Silver is funny in that it kills bacteria and while it may turn green unless you keep it really clean it will lessen your chance if an infection.
(good silver doesnt turn green BTW just the cheep plated stuff will)

when you get your belly button pierced I would recommend a ring, not a bar. when your belly button heals then its safe to change to whatever you want.
