what is the latest and fastest processor nowadays?

In personal computers I guess?
It depends on your needs. If gaming, then it will be the top notch AMD processor which is FX62 (dual core). It is almost a rule that AMD ways better than Intel processors in gaming.
On the other hand, Intel is releasing Core 2 Duo line which is really promising!

certainly not my athalon 2700 at the moment but i have a few unwanted guests hanging onto my brakes at the moment--about to squash them all over the road.
