I have the driver cd with me but i dont know how to go about it- please give details.

1) Power off PC
2) Install LAN card in free slot
3) Reboot system... It will go through "hardware detection" and ask for the driver disk. At this point you can insert the driver disk.
4) It may also ask for the original OS install disk to install the appropriate network protocol files. If an image was not installed on the hard drive at build time, you will need to have this available at this time as well!
5) Upon completion, the system will reboot again to finish the install. After rebooting, (if all goes well!) it should be up and running!

shut the pc down and remove the cover
insert the lan card into one of the expansion slots
replace cover and reboot
plug in a network cable
in win98 run the driver installation program from the disk
configure any settings you need such as IP address, mask and gateway
