loud neighbors/thin walls. more potential of someone burning place down - more to smoke in bed or leave candle unattended. money you spend is gone instead of paying mortgage to eventually buy house. less privacy- maintenance people can enter your apartment when you are not home. easier to steal packages left outside. limited as to what you can do as far as redecorate. share laundry facility. limited for hobbies - i can't do wood working in my apartment. have to be courteous to neighbors, so no vacuuming if you cant sleep at 2am.
good stuff - may have close neighbors. something breaks - you make a call and someone takes care of it you don't even have to take off work to meet the plumber. someone else shovels your walkway. no yard work. no local taxes. cheaper utilities - i pay about $30.00/month electrical - my sister pays over $200.00/month for electrical at house. less responsibility so more free time.

i assume you meant, the bad things about living in an apartmet. There are plenty good things, HOWEVER, you are not investing in anything. If you were making payments on a house, that would be increasing your asset value. If your living in an apartment, your making payments to someone else, and its not benefitting you in any way.

Noise from the neighbors, walking up 5 flights of stairs with groceries, not having a garage to park your car in, the owners can walk in whenever.
