I don't seem to be thirsty which is a problem when I'm told I need to force fluids. I'm told it is water I need. Is there a way to flavor it without artifical sweetners?

75 % of all Americans are chronically dehydrated. The problemm is our body is being bombarded by hundreds of chemicals each day. Water is part of the proble. Fluoride, chlorine, and other chemicals in water may have given your body the signal that water is not good for your body and rejects it. If this pattern continues, in time your body will substitute hunger for thirst. You will need to switch to distilled water and coach your gut to begin accepting water. Distilled water is clear of most chlorine and fluoride. Even spring water often has fluoride.

Here is a secret to increasing your desire for water. Throw away your table salt. Table salt is a refined product with almost no nutritional value. Then add unrefined sea salt to your diet. Unrefined sea salt is a wonderful food containing all of the minerals your body needs.

Follow me now. Buy three gallons of distilled water and put them in 1 gallon glass containers(Example Apple Juice or Sun Tea).
Put 12 grains of brown rice in each container. Let the water set up for a day in your refrigerator. This will remineralize your water.
Drink 6-8 glasses of this remineralized water each day. When you get to the bottom of your gallon of water, replace the 12 grains of rice and rotate to the next gallon of water. Your body should accept your mineralized water.

You can also try the water cure with distilled water and unrefined sea salt. Add a tiny pinch of unrefined sea salt from a health food store to give your distilled the minerals it needs to acctivate your thirst for water.

Your gut is telling you that you need to find a solution to your lack of hydrating water. I add a lemon or lime to my water to make it from time to time to make it taste better. Listen to your gut and find a way to give it water.

I had the same problem until I read the book " You're not sick, you're thirsty" by F. Batmanghelidj.MD. It truly opened my eyes to the bodies need for water. I detest water but now drink 3 - 4 bottles of spring water a day. I add a bit of lemon juice to the water and it makes it pallable. I leave it on the countertop and every time I walk by I take a sip. Truly amazing what a difference it has made in my health.

I always forget and wish I drank more but I only remember when I am thirsty. I have found that bottled water can be easier as you can just sort of sip on it as you are going along and drink much more than you would otherwise. Also although I don't often get through still water I can drink bottles full of mineral water. There is flavoured water with only fruit juice to flavour which is nice and easier to drink called h2O or diet mineral water has some nice flavours and you can make your own. Just dilute fruit juice or boil up blackberrys with sugar and put the syrup in mineral water. You can have colonic irrigation to flush water through your system and improve your hydration.

Oh, god!
1. You're not "chronically dehydrated". What makes you think that you are? Who is telling you this - a psychic? a faith healer?
2. There is no arbitrary amount of water that you "should" or "must" drink each day. This is a widespread myth. Folklore. Baloney.
3. ANY fluid will hydrate you. Another bullsh!t myth is that only water will do. Nonsense.

Whether you drink flavoured water or just plain water makes no odds, but you need to flush the toxins produced by your body, one of which is uric acid. High concentrations of uric acid lead to crystal formation, which leads to gout. Your kidneys will most definitely fail because of this, and the chances of a transplant are minimal if they find out you don't drink large amounts of water - at least 8 glasses a day.

Try drinking it icy cold. That's what I did when I started. If you don't have good-tasting tap water, you can try several brands of bottled water until you find something you can deal with. Now I drink a liter or two every day, plus my two cups of coffee. And the health benefits are the icing on the cake!

you will get used to drinking water after about the second time you have to go and get rehydrated by IV at the hospital. It is much less expensive and less painful just to drink water by mouth!
If you are looking for something to flavour it, use lemon juice or lime cordial. That gives it a different taste that is pleasant when the weather is hot.
