As professionals........there are many salons where they act as if they were at home and forget that the customer is still there especially at the counter at the front of the store.

They should be mystery shopped.

They should focus most of their attention on the clients, making friendly converstation. If the client walks out of the salon after much attention, uplifted with the nice hair doo, the client will come back for more service. And will probably tip well.

you have to ask yourself how you want to be treated...or better yet how would you like your mom to be treated when she went in for a service. would you be embarassed if the staff started chatting amongst themselves...talking badly about other customers or dates they had? if they ignored your mom being uncomfortable? aw, the answer is easy. very easy. fun and laughter is always a bonus when i go to any salon...but not disrespectful. all has to be done with respect and TASTE. everything depends on who is there also! and who can walk in at anytime.

I seriously think that the staff in any place should be able to treat anyone with the same attitude that was given to them. If you have a rude BLEEP then you should be able to be rude back, no one needs that crap.

with respect
I also prefer someone who can hold a decent conversation while cutting my hair
it's such a drag when someone is cutting your hair &
you have to sit there silent & look silly doing it
because they won't talk to you

like first time guests at your home.
do everything for them so they don't have to lift a finger.
that's what the client pays for - SERVICE.
