Too deep and I'm from a culture where most people are easy-going.

I wish to be and easy going person, but I must admit I'm a deep thinker. That is why at 4 am in the morning I haven't gone to sleep yet. Someone asked what is the smallest organ in the body? I had to start thinking organ, glands, hair, then I get into researching and reading then cross-referencing. I'm thinking while I'm writing and then when I finally go to sleep I will dream about what I was thinking and hopefully conclude my thought in my sleep so that I don't wake up after I sleep and ponder the question more. I can do this to something that peeks my interest for days, months, years, so what happens, what I know I know what I don't know I think I must know so I need to read, research, reflect more. An I remember which is even worse, because then you remember good as well as bad so that you can take apart, reflect, learn and draw conclusions from your memory and think has life or technology now made what I thought differ today from yesterday. You see now you have me thinking another thought I wish I wouldn't think about. You tell me!

Do easy going person and deep thinker actually contradict each other? For me, easy going person usually implies being able to go with the flow, to accept life as it is, to change your attitude towards it, to try and get a smile out of things. Deep thinkers try to do that as well, only in their own way, asking a lot of questions, trying to find answers, OK, maybe some of them are very uptight, but hey, no one is perfect, it´s just their way of saying hi to life...

I believe I am both. These are not mutually exclusive opposites, are they?
"Easy going" is a function of one's emotional nature, while "deep thinker" is one of the intellectual nature.
You could add a third layer in without disturbing the others, as well--inquiring whether one was physically active and athetic, or relatively sedentary.
One aspect may be stronger than another, though. For some people their first reaction to a situation is to ACT on it. For others, to examine and analyze it; for others, to sense one's feelings concernng it.
But all three aspects--intellect, emotion, and moving/bodily functions, co-exist in all of us, and can become more or less balanced. Each has its own job to do.

both, but the deep thinker part is always busy and always working even when the easy going part is in charge, the other one still is plotting in the shadows

Easy going...tried the deep thinking but didn't work. There are just too many things out that that have no explanation (like the rich countries not donating more money to poor nations) and so instead of going crazy thinking too deep and too much, I have now acquired a lazy--easy--going approach to life...I can't go against the tide...life's too short...
