I had the same question myself... From an outside point of view, this Israeli tactic is doing nothing to get their kidnapped soldier back - it is only inciting further violence and breeding further hate between the two sides. Had it been the Palestinians doing the exact same thing as Isreal is currently doing, the international community would have sent troops in a heartbeat. Where is the UN in this? Where are the humanitarians of the other nations?

It seems to me that Israel is not only collectively punishing the Palestinians, it is also terrorizing them. I do not see how anyone can call this anything but terrorism. No matter the size of the military budget, terrorism is terrorism.

I don't understand why there is silence from the international community about this. It is a horrible injustice in my opinion.

Why the silence about the crimes of the Palestinians against the Israeli's??It seems to me that both countries were close to a peace. That the Israeli government gave up Gaza and other settlements, forcibly removing some settlers to compromise with the Palestinians. The insurgents in Palestine then seized power, no way do I think they actually won. And started all over again. It seems to the world at large, obviously even the Arab states don't support Palestine right now, that the Palestinians have no desire for peace. If they agreed with Palestine they would have demonstrators in their streets burning flags as they usually do when they unite with a cause. Sorry, but no one thinks the Palestine's are in the right.

If anything, the world holds Israel to a higher standard than anyone else. Most of the alleged "war crimes" against the Palestinians are either greatly exaggerated or flat out lies. Take, for starters, the supposed massacre in Jenin, you know, the one that the Arab fascist dictators and their mouthpieces in the European press accused the Israelis of, after the Palestinians murdered ever 100 people as they sat down to their Passover Seders. Even Arafat admitted it never happened.

Because no one seems to have the courage to stand up to the Jews. Everyone seems to be afraid to be called "antisemitic", which - strictly speaking - is an incorrect word. Arabs are also Semites, but the word is claimed by the Jews exclusively.

Israel has - following the example of her US mentors - become a criminal state that has no longer any regard for international law, political fairness and common decency. The Israeli government displays a bunker mentality that is deeply irrational. Sooner or later this will lead to more serious problems in the Middle East.

Some one said that only US is silent over what is going on in Israel now...Well u're wrong ,everyone does...'Cos it seems they are afraid of them or maybe they are afraid that if they would say something they would be called anti semite...'Cos this is what Israel does best :if someone says they should stop killing Palestinian civilians they are called anti semite or Nazis 'cos they are denying the right of Israel to "self defense".And this is how they "defend" themselves by cutting electricity and water to every Palestinian from Gaza...'Cos they all must suffer according to the Israelis...
And UN can't control Israel 'cos they won't listen anyway to what they are saying...it wouldn't be the first time...

I see it as a two way street. The Palestinians have lead many terror raids and sent many suicide bombers over to Israel to kill innocent people. Then the Palestinians elect a known terrorist group to lead their society. Granted they are giving them infrastructure, but this is blood money. If the Palestinians want to be taken seriously they need to come up with a more credible government that is more amiable to playing nicely in the sandbox with their neighbors. .

because it is not a war crime to defend yourself...what about ALL THE HOMICIDE BOMBERS Palestinians sent to kill INNOCENT Israelis...you only think of yourself... the homicide bombers only stopped after a big wall was built...Israel had said they would move out of some territories...and they have...what is the result...greed...palistine wants more...if the people are suffering so much from Palestinian government via Israel...why don't they protest against them...why did the people elect hamas...they don't want peace with Israel...they are like the Iranian leader who want Israel wiped off the earth...good job Israel...keep up the good work!!!!!

The major governments, and media of the world are silent, but not the people. It's not difficult to see the injustice, The Jews are behaving like Nazi's, they seem to have learned nothing from their own history.

What were you doing when Pakistan occupied Kashmir and violated human rights and international conventions on the treatment of war prisoners on Indian soldiers?

The world is not silent, only the US. We are Israel's lone allie. Guess why.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is the most powerful lobby in DC. Our politicians are scared to death that they'll brand them as anti-semetic if they don't play ball.
