they have either mentioned some company or brand name or are talking about a friend of theirs. as they have only signed contracts about themselves they can not talk openly about there friends.
Same with with all the products u see in there, all the labels have been covered up
as for the sounds, a sound recordist was asked for some sounds , so just went out to record every day sounds.

There is a slight time delay on the live broadcast of big brother, this is so that if they swear or start talking about someone outside of the house or branded products they can block it from being broadcast. I have no idea why they use the sound of birds!

They do that over the interesting bits so as to keep it exciting in the Daily Highlights show. Otherwise all the juicy stuff would get around and less people would watch the 9pm show. And if that happened Channel 4 wouldnt make so much money of flogging advertising space!

Because the housemates are saying something which may be slanderous or unsuitable for broadcast. they can't talk about people on the outside as big brother has no way of knowing whether its true or not

They are censoring what is being discussed.
Most of It I understand and agree with, but sometimes they're just singing a song, which I'm guessing is a royalties issue. How tight is that?

Its during the live shows so if anything is mentioned they dont want us to hear, mainly alot of swearing, or names of people, anything they could be sued for really.
