hell YES!!
Thats so because you are actually setting yr biological clock(called circadium rythm) later than yr brain expects, hence, you will be feeling sluggish early morning!
Sleep is induced with the production of a chemical called MELATONIN in the brain, the production of this chemical is highest between 7-11 pm, after which it starts to recede as morning approaches ,go to bed early and you will have an excellent on-time production of melatonin and hence an excellent metabolism, which will help you in NOT putting on weight, will DRIVE you to the speed of a Ferrari throughout the day....
Sleep late and you end up with everything listed above opposite!

You see pal.....now I will leave it to you to decide which is best for you and whether yr brain is deteriorating or not, since I wont lecture you/coerce/ bash you into getting into those silken sheets earlier!!!!

Once I read that while sleeping helps in lengthening your memory. But less of sleep surely doesnt deteriorate your brain. It just leaves it as it is.

You dont need a mirror to look at your palms.
So just get up early Say for a week or ten days. See how active your brain works. So automatically you would get up early daily.
But your curious question reveals you are active only.

I don't think so. I think your brain gets its rest even if you sleep later... the key is to sleep enough hours alltogether. Some people sleep early, others sleep late..... but you should sleep enough number of hours as the brain needs so!
