there is a bacteria called Gardnerella vaginalis that imparts a fishy odor. See a physician who should be able to diagnose it by microscope exam at the bedside, and treat it.

Douching is extrememly unhealthy for a woman. You're washing away all the good cells that keep your plumbing healthy down there. Your period takes care of cleaning it out. The foul odor can be caused by many things. Stop douching, take warm baths instead...and go see your gyno for a pap smear.

Your skin has two types of sweat glands: eccrine glands and apocrine glands. Eccrine glands occur over most of your body and open directly onto the surface of your skin. Apocrine glands develop in areas abundant in hair follicles, such as your scalp, underarms and genitals.
You have between 2 million and 5 million eccrine sweat glands. When your body temperature rises, your autonomic nervous system stimulates these glands to secrete fluid onto the surface of your skin, where it cools your body as it evaporates. This fluid (perspiration) is composed mainly of water and salt (sodium chloride) and contains trace amounts of other electrolytes — substances that help regulate the balance of fluids in your body.
Apocrine glands, on the other hand, secrete a fatty sweat directly into the tubule of the gland. When you're under emotional stress, the wall of the tubule contracts and the sweat is pushed to the surface of your skin where bacteria begin breaking it down. Most often, it's the bacterial breakdown of apocrine sweat that causes a strong odor. Fish like odor is always in areas where apocrine glands are located. and you are suspecting bacterial infection!!
Having said all this, i will also suggest a simple remedy too from ayurveda and naturopathy.
Prepare fresh curd (Yoghurt) and it should set in 4 to 5 hours. IT should not be sour in taste, not whey should have separated from the body of curd. Now dip a small piece of cloth or cotton roll (tampoon also will do) in curd and leave it inside where you douche. Also, you can apply it on genital areas and put cotton underwear over it.
Do this for 4 to 5 nights and bacterias would vanish.
Now root cause of the problem.
The secretion of sweat containing fats and proteins is due to yur diet containing these in excess and secondly hormone imbalance, Estrogen/progesterone and their ratio. While there are a number of bio-identiacal hormone remedies available, it is better that you use them from the suggestions of a practitioner.
Do not use anti-perspirants, deodrants etc. They are cargcinogenic.

Stop douching, that can cause an imbalance especially when doing it too much. Also try wahing your area with Dove Soap or just with awash cloth and water, go to the Dr. though, it could be more serious.

DON"T DOUCHE!!!! This messes up your body's chemistry and can actually cause an odor; it sounds gross, but washing with soap can do the same thing by casuing an imbalance in the "good" and "bad" organisms down there. Definitely see your gyno just in case.

I would definitely go to the Dr. That is not normal but they say you shouldn't douche too much or else you could give yourself an infection.
