Try to avoid sleeping outside, then it won't grow in the first place.
Do you ever wake up covered in morning dew?

I've have found that peroxide works. It has to be the first treatment you use because once you set the stain by drying the clothes it won't come out. Pour it directly full strength right on the mildew. Let it set and soak for a little while then re-wash. Good Luck!!

Right! If they are colored try using a color safe bleach and let them soak for over night .
If they are whites use hot water and one cup of Clorox brand bleach.
Rather than machine dry them, let them dry in the sun if possible.
Sun is a natural bleaching source and removes the smell!
G'Luck!

If they are light colors you can put straight bleach on them for 3 seconds then immediately immerse them in water and it shouldn't ruin them.
