Have you considered working for a charity for a while, it would have to be voluntary ie not paid but it would give you something to put on a c.v.
Also Learn Direct can give you advice on courses, free ones that will help you like with English or computers etc. Also, the job centre can help you to find suitable positions in your area.

If you have usable skills, but due to the short term memory loss, you might get confused while doing a task, try something like this.
Make a flow chart that describes the steps necessary to complete the task, and have hem handy to refer to while working, so that you can see where you are and continue until the task is complete.
You might also try to enter a rehab program thsat specializes in those with disabilities, and they will have connections with programs that allow those to return to the workplace with special needs.
Try checking with your city or county government for such programs.
I wish you luck.

Go to the Jobcentre and make an appointment with the Disability Employment Advisor.

I'm going to make a suggestion but please, please do not take this in the wrong way.
I have seen sooooo many autistic children, up into their twenties + working, earning money and doing productive work.
I don't know if you would be able to fit into their programs, but it may be beneficial to just contact them. They understand and they may offer a great deal of help. There must be an autistic program near you. Good Luck

why don't you work for yourself in some way. the trick is to START SMALL and KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Good luck! and whatever you do don't give up, and if there is a good friend to help you all the better.

Go for it!

:-)

Haven't you asked this question before? And that's not meant to be callous.
