A few weeks ago,a guy who said he got my ID from his friend who is in the same year in college as me,IM-ed me on the messenger. He said he goes to the same college but a year older and he liked me and wanted to chat.He seemed ok and i said yes.But soon i realized i made a mistake,he had no consideration for me...he didn't accept that for example i have to work and i can;t talk on the net.He left me offline messages all the time. And i said i didn't want to talk to him anymore ,i was as polite i could posibly be.But the guy just doesn;t get it,he keeps IM me,i have a tone of offline messages from him,and it's been 2 weeks since i've told him i don't wanna talk to him anymore.I never respond to those messages, but lately his begining to threaten me,like he's gonna find me,and i can;t ignore him forever.Plus the offlime messages his always mean, calling me names and stuff like that.he is on my ignore list now,but i'm scared.what do you think he is capable of?

Permanently block him and, if necessary, change you IM account. Unable to get a reaction, he'll probably get bored and find something else to do. If you're really concerned, then his ID can be traced back to him. Contact your IM provider and explain the situation. Nobody is that anonymous in the net. Somewhere is a record back to the exact person who was sending the messages.

Being scared depends on how much have you divulge your real identity to that person...Whether you are of the same country or place or your friend who has given your ID to him is known to you personally. But I don't think he has the capability to do all things he ever told you. Just continue ignoring him and let him out of your system. People of that kind deserves to be ignored forever..Pray a lot and soon he will just disappear....

People are so pathetic sometimes, this guy is obviously immature. I'd suggest that you tell him that if he continues too contact you that you will go too the police about it. If he does contact you, have the police issure him a warning of harassment. That should keep him back .

Don't engage in any communication with him even to tell him to leave you alone. It will only encourage him. Save everything and talk to the police. Becareful, don't go walking around campus at night and always know your surroungings. Have male friends walk you to class.

Thats creepy, i would unblock him and see what kind of messages he sends now. If he still threatens you, copy them and go to the police. Or tell the guy your going the police about him and he might stop.
Good luck..

Block him, try to save the messages for evidence, and call the police

wow.

delete him from your list and when he IMs you, there will be a messege saying as to whether you want to recieve messegers from him. just select that you dont want to. problem solved.
if he does find you, keep his "unfriendly" messeges saved. so that you can show it to someone in authority (cop).

best of luck.
