The word imagination denotes magic. It's an exercise of the brain and mind working together to create new concepts. Intuition goes beyond the mind. It's a knowing of something because you are in-to-it, as in communing with the thoughtform and understanding it fully. It is part of buddhic consciousness. It is different from instinct which is the lower reflection of it that we have buried within us from past times.

Imagination is creating pictures and ideas in your mind. Intuition is sometimes a feeling, like being psychic, but usually a prediction on the future based on previous experiences.
