Guys i was looking for something like that post.
I'm a great fun of Argentina although i'm from Greece,
and even when Greece played against Argentina in 94' i supported Args. But i must be objective here. What surprised me was not that referee sided with Germany (we were all expecting that), but that when Germany scored, he continued playing 50-50
like nothing has happened. This is the definition of bias. The referee was able to see every thing that was happening in the field, and was deciding when to help Germany, while being carefull not to affect the whole result. However anyone that has played football has seen that Argentina always tries to play the ideal soccer other than kicking the ball from defense waiting for some attacker to push the ball to the goal ( :<) eg. Greece). And i can't believe how some people are satisfied with the football that some teams play (eg. Germany rules...) probably they have never played this game.
However I think that mundial is becoming more n' more commercial loosing it's sense. Sorry for saying to much..
Something last for this Cup: Did you know that the official mundial balls are being made by <10 year old kids and many of them while sawing the balls cut their fingers? If this means something for you try to find what is the FIFA answer (?)
Thanx the man for started that post.

Oh please... Of course it's sad to see the team you've been rooting on... but really people are so naiive...
Argentina is not a newbie in this kind of a tournament. They knew what they were going to expect. They knew the referees would probably side with Germany. They knew they would have yellow/red card problems. They knew it was going to be a tough game. They KNEW ALL OF THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.
Even the coach of Argentina mentioned this before the match in an interview. And although I'm not quite sure of this, I think that to be a coach for a great team like Argentina, you'd have to have TONS of experience in big tournaments like this... He said in the interview that he's going to prepare for everything: Home advantage, yellow card and foul problems, biased referees, the crowd, the PK... He actually said that this game would probably go to the PKs. And all of this did happen... (Although I think the referee was quite fair, he did give yellow cards to the German side as well you know. Although if you were rooting for Argentina, you wouldn't NOTICE. )He said the players will play with these facts in mind. Yet he failed to be prepared for it. Even though the referee was actually pretty fair if you consider all the other biased rulings in the past games...Italy vs Australia?? Or Henry's dive in France vs Spain?? Remember South Korea 2002?? So, he knew this would happen..
How did they lose? Bad Judgement and Bad Luck...He underestimated the Germans. Even though Germany didn't play as well as they did in the past matches, that was because they were focusing on defense. They knew how dangerous Argentina's attack was. They knew Argentina was better than them. But after the first goal broke out(excellent goal, I'd like to add. Beautiful) the Germans started to regain their offensive playing style(although weaker compared to earlier matches), and the coach of Argentina put more effort on defense. And the Germans score...
The unfortunate injury of the goal keeper didn't help either... Although only Klose himeself would know, I didn't see this as intentional. Klose isn't actually petit. He's very big, and his thighs are very thick.
The Germans managed to put up a fight and they went to extra time, and managed to win at the PKs. The kicks from the Germans were superior to Argentina. They should have planned ahead for this. They should have kicked harder and better so that Lehmann wouldn't be able to read the ball. He read the path of all of them!! They knew Lehmann was world class. If they were really preparing for the PKs as they said they were, they should have done a better job. Even without the goalkeeper problem, if they'd scord all 5, they wouldn't have lost.
Even with all the advantages Germany had, Argentina did outplay the hosts. They were superior. They would've won if they had played home or in another continent. And I think highly of them for that even though I am a fan of Germany. (And for your information, I'm not German, nor am I related to one) But.. Like I said, they knew this was going to happen and they should have been prepared. The coach shouldn't have made such bad choices. They weren't naiive, for God's sakes people!! They've been in this business long enough to know how it goes.

in a way he was. he was giving yellow cards to argentinians and not germans. but it didnt really affect the game. it was pekermans bad decisions. i dont think the riquelme sub was that bad but he should have bought on messi for crespo. bad decisions there. also why wasent saviola starting. and did u see the argie players after the game. it was shocking. cufre wil llikely get a big ban aswell as maxi rodriguez.
