well first of all wear what you feel is comfortable to you, nothing looks funnier when you when you see a guy walking retardly due to their clothing.
boxer= great underwear, its a loose fit type that lets your equipment moves freely. it comes it multi colored, multi textured (cotton, rayon, silk) and multi prints. a unique way to show your personality.
briefs= these are the real old school, tidy whitey. its a classical underwear that many guy wear. they come in traditional white or multicolor. briefs come in many types of style from the traditional full brief, the mid rise brief, bikini briefs or those briefs that look more like panties than briefs.
boxer brief= an underwear that combines best of both worlds. comfort, support and style. its an underwear that many people wear. guys find it comfortable, girls find it sexy, gays find it irresistible (well they find any hot guy irresistible in anything)...back to your question.
you can always go Au naturel and be naked under neath. some girls like a guys butt when there is nothing down their. but for its kinda scary to wear it with jeans. OUCH!!!

I feel really odd answering this question, as I am 20 years older than me, BUT
I say boxers. To me, boxers on a guy says, "I'm going for comfort and function rather than sexy" and to me, that's a turn on.
