slavery ended when somebody got the idea to hire employees and exploit them much more than was ever done with slaves. Slaves you had to give room and board so they would not starve and give medical care so they could retain usefulness and value.

Employees are like rented slaves that can be paid less than a living wage and cast aside when they get sick or useless and rent a new one. it is cheaper to rent than own.
so this is what really ended slavery and the controversy over it,

Sometimes. Example--the American Civil War reunited the nation and ended slavery in the US, but did not, nor have we yet, solved the problem of race relations.

in essence yes its true ... but its hard to heal the old wounds no matter how hard we try the past is gone but never forgotten
