There are three ways to become a cosmonaut:

1). Get through selection the process in Russia. For an Indian it's vitrually impossible

2) Get through a selection process in a country, which has an agreement with Russia to send their representative to space (this is how Rakesh Sharma became the first Indian cosmonaut in 1984). You have to hope that India will have another agreement with Russia.

3) Pay (yourself or with a sponsor's help) $ 20 million. There are at least 3 people who already did it (Tito, Shuttleworth and Olsen).

I assume you are an Indian from India and not a native american.

I know that the "Bureau of Indian affairs" protects the rights of
native Americans. It doesn't matter what tribe you are from.
Are you studying on the reservation or at a school near the
reservation? You would probably do well as an astronaut since
most Indians have little fear of heights. The skyscrapers of
New York city were erected by many of your ancestors. Go
for it!

If you are an Indian, that rules you out right there from becoming an astronaut. There are 1000.s of American men that are waiting in line to become an astronaut. You will have to wait until India has the capability to send their own astronaut.
