I don't think there really are many people like that, at least not many people over about 25 or so.

The people I've observed who *seemed* to be chasing money at the expense of family, love or happiness, were either gambling addicts, so desperately in debt that they couldn't find a way out, or absolutely joyful about whatever it was that made them their money.

The desperately in debt don't let you know that very often. They may have three sport cars and two big homes and a plane, but their creditors are closing in and they are terrified. And sometimes, when they lose it all, it's the best thing that ever happened to them.

On the other hand, if a guy, for example, loves buying and selling businesses, and gets lots of money for doing it, it's hard to see from the outside that he is not chasing the money, but the next big deal. Because he loves making that deal. It fills him with pleasure to win! It's a wonderful game that he gets to play every day. I don't pity him, I envy him.
