Don't say they can change the policies through voting. When has anyone heard of a tied vote. Where one person voting would actually change the entire outcome of the election. I am sure it has happened just on a smaller scale such as the election for governor of Bumfuct, Alabama. Where only 2 people live.

Actually Bumfuck is in Georgia and both of those people are white and vote Republican on the national level and Democrat on the local. East Bumfuck has 7 people. 3 are white, 3 are black and the other is highyeller. Now there 1 vote does make a difference.

The debate can be useful as it brings forth information any open minded person might be able to sift through. Most of anything you hear from any side of politics is at least biased and at worst an outright lie. It is up to the intelligent person to gleen the information at hand and make an educated decision.

Politics is like being very hungry and having two buggy biscuits in front of you knowing you can only have one. One biscuit has a big weevil in it and the other a small one. Which one do you choose?

Always choose the lesser of two weevils.

an idea when it reaches masses becomes a material force. a debate...the battle of arguments and ideas is symbol of a healthy soceity where corrections are possible and internal contradictions could be resolved in a smooth , democratic and non voilent manner. where as in a society where there is no scope for such arguments and debates fudalism, autocracy or despotism will prevail and thrive leading to voilent responses from civil society.

It's an opportunity for the regular person to voice his/her opinion, blow off some steam. I'm sure we can all agree that we as citizens don't feel we are HEARD by our politicians.....at least we can be heard here.....amongst ourselves. No one here has any illusions of changing everyone else's mind as to their own political views....I know that we all seem to be divided into opposing political ideologies...but when push comes to shove....we would ALL unite as one in a time of national crises...I have no doubt about that!
