I've never had a girlfriend or have ever met anyone who is compatible with me. I'd rather be a hermit. Why is marriage so important? It seems to be a draining business where both people lose money and have to work harder physically and emotionally especially when kids come around.
What's the point? Aren't there enough people living and breeding on Earth. I don't consider myself special enough to contribute that way.

The question is not whether you are 'special enough'. For a person who wants to get married, I could see asking whether they are really ready for a permanent relationship (it's amazing the extent to which people are deceived by their hormones in this matter).
But for you, the question is simply your calling in life. One person has one gift, the other has another gift(1). There are indeed many disadvantages to having a partner - your focus is divided.
If you are religious, you might think of it in terms of 'the things of God' vs. 'worldly affairs'. There's that many more people you have to please if you have a family(2).
Bottom line: if you are happy being celibate, you are in control of your sex drive(3), then you do well not to make any changes in your marital status(4).

Marriage is not for EVERYONE. I think the divorce rate speaks for that. It sounds like you might be one of those people that should consider NOT getting married.

The point of marriage is to build a better world where people have responsibilities and they try to fullfill the responsibilities. Not like you who want to just **** around doing nothing and say whats the point..........

It is your life, if you don't want to marry, or have kids,..that's your right. Never let anyone pressure you into anything you don't want to do. I don't know where it is written in stone that we have to do certain things in life, or at a certain age. Do it your way.
