you have to be likeable to be liked. Be positive and have faith in people. They really aren't that bad. We all are afraid of being hurt by others. Start small. Smile and say how's it going?
Or, Ilike your shirt - as you are walking by someone. Pretend people like you. Give it ten days, and get that smirk off your face. RELAX, everyone is just as needy as you are for friends, really. The fronts people put out there (including yours) is just a protection device, and it's negative so it attracts negative. You don't have to give away too much of yourself, just be relaxed and be nice. Smile, have a good time. Don't put yourself through this, you deserve better.

Maybe you're just looking in the wrong places and at the wrong type of people. Keep your mind open to the possibility with everyone you see. Don't assume anything until you've taken the time to know them. What is it you expect from a friend? It takes time to build stronger levels of trust.
