It seems as of late many people that attend college waste their time and their parents money on completely useless college degrees that in the real world will leave you either working at a fast food joint or collecting government assistance. Which degree do you think is an absolute waste? Do you know any people who basically wasted a lot of money for nothing?

General Studies. I have that degree. I wasted a lot of money for nothing. But thankfully most of my courses were in Management and Information Technology so I'm going to get a Masters in Public Affairs or Information systems.

What a load of rubbish! There are many degrees that are useful and will get you into a job straight away - medical, engineering, law, computing!

Degrees that you should be weary of are english, history, media studies, sociology, political science, business studies etc. They might get you a good job, they might not, really depends on which college you attended and how well you performed in your studies!

The worst degree I know of is Surf Studies and Technology (Plymouth university, UK)

All degrees are equally useless . Suppose a person is possessing a vehicle driving license but never drives that is to say a degree is a platform from where any where can be jumped , but if not jumped due to any reason the degree is useless .

That's a cynical outlook. Here's what's happening. An AA/AS is mostly useless, it says, "I wasted two (more likely 7) years in a junior college postponing adult life." A BA/BS will get you an entry level job in a giant corporation. An anthropologist can get a job at a brokerage firm. All the degree says is that you can follow instructions and are somewhat goal oriented. An MA/MS will get you a better paying job, usually in your field of study, or at least give you a boost in income when seeking a corporate job. A PhD gets you extra pay and a few options, but your job is for the most part limited to your field of study.

In general, I'd say regardless of subject matter, most people hold the AA/AS in most disdain. The BA/BS degree doesn't do much other than get you in a ground level, regardless of field of study, so long as you are getting a job at a giant corporation in some benign department. The advanced degrees will earn you more prestige and pay but also limit your career paths. So most useless degree: AA/AS in anything.

Any degree is a waste if the possessor is an idiot.
Any degree is usfeul if the possessor is intelligent.

The purpose of a college education is not to get training for a job, but to learn how to learn, no matter the degree.

If you're just interested in a job, a technical training school might be better than college.

Useless degrees? No such thing. Degree that will get you the most money? Engineering. Degree that will get you the least money? Education.
