If you have the right tools and knowledge about semiconductors, I'd be able to answer you, but since you probably don't, elsewise you wouldn't have asked this question, I'd say take the vehicle to a certified chevy dealer and get it done right. It will cost, but it will get done correctly. Ron

Remove the steering wheel with a (puller) unscrew the signal switch lever, unscrew the 3 hold down screws, unsnap the other end (of the switch) on top of the steering column, under the dashboard.{YOU might want want to tie a string on the end before YOU remove the harness so YOU will be able to INSTALL the NEW Harness} The turn signal harness(switch) is about 24" long,If it's like my 1971 one ton 4X4 Chevy pickup.I don't believe they had locking steering wheels ,but if they did ,You will a compressor to remove the locking ring under the steering wheel.AND that should fix YOUR [SurburbAn] also IF YOU don't have have a bad brake-light switch or bad ground on the rag joint on the column.

The steering wheel has to come off. You don't need to take it to the dealer, any mechanic can probably do it. It's not difficult.

easy... if you want to turn "left" push the swith down, if to turn "right" is your desire just push turn signal switch up.
