Yes,that is correct.Having said that,he played football before the advent of all the new regulations that mean even the 'cleanest' player is going to get booked at some point.
Ian Callaghan played over 700 games for Liverpool and was never booked,but if he played today he would be booked in every second game.I have seen old videos of him playing and he wasn't afraid to get stuck in! Referees let a lot more go in those days.
