No, maybe in the top 200. Not in the class of Pujols (probably top 5 of all time)

I think Ken Griffey Jr. is an amazing athlete who can hit a baseball better than nearly anyone else to ever walk the face of the earth.

Just this past week he hit his 552nd home run to bring him within 11 of Mr. October.

Provided he finishes out this season and next, he may well end up fifth on the all-time list. That is provided he stays healthy.

Any seasons after that would just be gravy.

David Cone once said that "Griffey is the best talent in our generation." High praise from a man with some World Series rings.

Had he not missed approximately 350 games due to injury with the Reds, he'd now have 640 home runs now.

Griffey Jr. also has an amazing defensive prowess. He can read a ball off the bat like no other center fielder I have lived to see play. His catches back at the Kingdome are etched into my brain because they were so memorable.

Griffey is one of the greatest players of this era. Without a doubt the greatest center fielder since Willy Mays.

He could've been. Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player and one in the steroid era who actually seems to have done everything entirely clean so no one can really question what he's done. However injuries took him from being top 10 material. Top 25-50 without a doubt (I'm not sure if I'd deffinately put him in my top 25, probably not but close, I just dont have the time to think it through). When he was healthy though he was a hell of a hitter and fielder, just a great all-around ballplayer.

lee j is a dumbass - you cannot put pujols in the top 5 best of all time retard the guy has only played what 5 years? think of juan gonzalez, mo vaughn, frank thomas. these guys were monsters at the beginning of their careers but were are they now?? im a huge pujols fan but you cannot put him in that kind of class now and possibly ever. now onto you question - yes griffey will go down as one of the greatest of this or any generation. if not for his injuries which most were caused by either freak accidents or by trying to do too much on the field he would have gone down as possibly the greatest ever. he owns one of the sweetest swings in all of baseball. his offensive output along with his stellar defensive play in one of the tougher positions in baseball makes him one of the most complete players ever. he was never a big guy and was putting up better numbers across the board then others who were all juiced up. it will be a travesty if his career is somehow tainted by his injuries.

Yes, Ken Griffey, Jr. is one of the best. His career rather reminds me of Mickey Mantle, given the injuries. And the home run total is comparable, too. He will be in the Hall of Fame, and will deserve it.

Even his ego, which is not as bad as some, is comparable to other great players. Too bad he bailed on the Mariners, but that certainly does not affect his ability. It just means he will not retire in Seattle.

One can certainly debate his exact place among the greats, but not the fact that he is one of them.

Right now he's the best that I've ever seen play. Even with everyone taking steriods he was able to put up great numbers without them. He's still going to be an all time great. I just wish he never got hurt.
