when you have learnt the material and it seems like you did it w/ minimal effort or when it seems like none of your effort has been wasted
a good teacher also cares that you're learning and is willing to help you help yourself, he/she is also not afraid of giving you a bad grade when you really deserve it but will work w/ you or will give you some help so you can improve later on

I consider a teacher good when students feel they learned something. If a student makes a mistake the teacher doesn't shoot them down and corrects them in a way that is helpful. The teacher gets the students enthusiastic about the subject.

A teacher that takes the time to make sure that a struggling pupil gets to grips with the subject. I've seen far too many teachers favour the naturally bright and gifted and shun those who are not so bright. Trying to ensure that a struggling pupil succeeds demonstrates a teacher that is true to their profession and is willing to take on challenge instead of the loving the boffins who don't need as much attention.

it depends on what level your teaching at but a good teacher for me is patient, has a good attitude, is understanding and takes everyone's needs into account. Also if there are kids in need of extra help with their studies (younger or older) then a good teacher will take the time out to help those children as well as encouraging the kids who grasp things quicker than the others.

A good teacher is one who cares more about how her students are performing than she how she is performing. This comes with practice. Teaching is a very difficult job, if you are a student you can help your teacher by keeping an open mind and being open to new ideas and new way to approach learning.

When the teacher displays genuine interest in the subject, and not just a means for receiving a paycheck.
Teachers are important. They make lasting impressions on young minds.
Talented teachers are in demand.
They manifest this God given talent in the way they capture your attention.
When you see this, you know you have a good teacher.

when the teacher is no more a teacher but becomes a guiding light in your life, he shows you the path to where you belong. remember, a teacher is someone who takes you where other teachers take you but a good teacher is the one who takes you where you ought to be. He/She makes you better or at least as good as him/her and lets you see education, not as a knowledge cramming session but as a tool to make your life more useful and purposeful for yourself and mankind. He/she makes you live the subject, infact the teacher would make you one with the surroundings ,the subject , the life and the universe. He/she is the one who shows the path to the lord and makes you a good human being.

When their love of the subject inspires you to learn and enjoy what you're being taught. eg When I first studied Geography 'O' level I failed miserably as my teacher was drop dead boring. My next teacher loved the subject and took us out on field trips etc and taught us in an interesting and enthusiastic manner. I got grade 1 next attempt in this and other subjects because my teachers inspired me to learn and to actually enjoy learning!!

When you leave the lesson buzzing and in high anticipation of the next one. When the teacher makes learning appealing and fun.
