Connecting from home using VPN is tricky. You have to have the domain name or the IP address that you are connecting to. You have to have the administrator's permission. There is a program called GoToMyPC ($20.00 a month)

If both PC running Windows Xp and connected to Internet then you should try Remote Desktop Conncetion feature available in Windows XP. On your Wonk Computer right click My Computer(log as Administrator)>Properties>Remote Tap>Tick Remote Assistance(Allow Remote Assistance Invitations......) After that OK.

To access work computer from home, click Start>All Programs>accessories>communications>Remote Desktop Connection.
Type in IP address of work Computer
Login Name (this must be Administrator right on work computer)
Password and (domain name if there is)

Windows NetMeeting (Windows98) has a feature that allows two computers to share files directly. Users would have to be standing by on both PC's.

If your version of Remote Desktop isn't working, I'd investigate on why; it should work and maybe there's a step overlooked.

you need to set up a VPN connection. go to www.no-ip.com there you can register for free and manage your account. for example you can make an account as myconn.no-ip.info then u should install their program on ur host pc then this program will report ur IP address to this site and by reffer to your address always this IP will be available for you then simply by RDC you can login to ur pc. for more info call me on Skype ID:v_jian
