I wouldn't worry right now. Usually they say that you can detect the baby's heartbeat as early as 8 weeks and as late as 12 weeks.
My heart goes out to you. Best of Luck

If she is having Ultra sound, they are keeping a good eye on her. If the baby isn't alive they would have suggested surgery or delivery for her. When you're pregnant your imagination can really get away from you. Don't worry about anything until you know for sure. Feel free to call your Doctors head nurse. You deserve the comfort when you are worrying. It's very easy to confuse what the doctor says. Make sure your sister repeats the answer back to her doctor so she understands the details.

didn't have a heart beat or the heart beat wasn't detected? there is a huge difference between the two- no heart beat means that A. the baby is dead and a spontaneous abortion usually results or B. the baby is just fine and is just too small to detect a heart rhythm. and unless there is some specific reason for an ultra sound, why expose the child to an unnecessary procedure? get
The Bradley Method® book on natural child birth by Robert A. Bradley, M.D., and learn about pregnancy- there is a great deal less to be paranoid about than you likely imagine, and educating yourself is the only defense against it.

i think the best and only thing you can to is to keep the baby healthing and go about your pregnancy as good as possible. And when the ultra sound comes you'll find out if your baby has a heart beat or not. You never know what your gunna get so just hope for the best when the day comes. but until then take the best care for the baby inside you as you can.
Good luck..i'll be praying for you and your baby.

dont stress yourself for a start as this may have an effect on the baby. You will find out when you have your first ultrasound. The kind of miscarriage your sister had isn't as common as regular miscarriage. It's called a 'delayed' or 'missed' miscarriage.
With normal miscarriages there is usually bleeding and cramping but with delayed miscarriage the baby just passes away and the body doesn't realise that there is no baby to nurtue any more, so it keeps feeding the placenta and that is why the bleeding and cramping doesn't occur straight away.
Contact the Early Pregnancy Assesment Unit (EPAU) at your local hospital and ask them to arrange an assesment for you. tell them about your worries, and they will check you over and arrange a scan.

I notice you have a lot of questions about your pregnancy and you're worried. I totally understand you're worried as that is a precious gift. But you have to stop worrying so much, its not good for you or your baby. Just pray that your child will be heathly and everything will be fine. I understand that you are worried about all those things but if you keep worrying you are going to totally stress yourself out. And remember every feeling you have, your baby can feel in there. I will pray for you, that your nerves can be calmed and you can just enjoy being pregnant. Good luck

I had the same thing happen. I was so excited and then the baby had no heart beat. I had to have him and everything. When they did the autopsy they found out he would have been a very unhealthy child and may have died later anyway. I had my son about a year and a half later and he is very heathy. If it's meant tobe it will if not it is for a reason. Good luck

Your sister's pregnancy has nothing to do with your own and whatever doctor told you otherwise needs to be sued. You are just causing more hurt to your baby by stressing out about it. You just need to relax. As painful as it is to see a family member loose a baby you have to remember that yours is the important thing now.

Wow, I just went through this myself. My child didn't have a heartbeat as well. Doctors told us that either it was too soon to detect or that my honey was miscarrying. Unfortunately things didn't work out for us. I'm not trying to scare you, I just want you to be open to all possibilities. I was extremely upset because I didn't take in all the possibilities. Please be optimistic about things with keeping an open mind. Might be a little hard to understand, but please try to. Chances are you have nothing to worry about. Good luck.

First off you need to relax and drink tons of water. The more you stress the worse off you are.
Second, if you have a u/s or fetal Doppler to early it may not be detected.
Alot of woman dont know they are pregnant and have early miscarriages.
Dont stress and if your really worried you need to talk to your ob-gyn to see if you can get another beta test to see your levels rise. or an u/s
