If you emptied a bucket of water from a great height the water would break up and disperse into small droplets. Small droplets are more stable because their air resistance to weight ratio is greater and hence the aerodynamic forces tending to break the droplet apart are less (it travels at lower velocity). Of course in real life rain comes from condensing water vapour in clouds due to temperature and/or pressure drop. If this happens gently (such as in a mist) small finely dispersed slow falling droplets will be formed. If the cloud is large and dense and condensing conditions more favourable larger droplets will be formed but they will be subject to aerodynamic forces breaking them up when they fall too fast.

If it was so, as you said; let see the science behind it. You know that the Potential energy is equal to weight times the height. Now this weight of a pool of water would be so high that this energy will turn out to be so enormous that no one would be able to survive on the planet.

Also, due to the size, the momentum which is mass times the velocity would be extremely high and this would cause destruction everywhere.

So what happens when the rain falls in drop fashion? The surface area is increases, thereby the friction is more, retarding its velocity thus decreasing the momentum.
Also, even though the total mass would be the same in both cases, but the relative mass in the drops case will be less, ensuring the survival of all that exists on earth.

Just imagine, SO much ENgineering in just drops of water???
Of course this indicates, that the whole Universe is desgined by a meticulous designer. Isnt it? There cant be 2 or more designers as they would have wrecked up the entire equlibrium.

We call this designer as GOD who is ONE and HE is not a human. HE is Imageless and pure.

Jesus referred to this 'designer' as "ELI" in the bible. This word is in the Hebrew language. Translate this to Arabic you get "ALLAH"
Jesus himself never claimed divinity. He was a Prophet like Noah, Abraham, Moses and finally Muhammed (PBUH).

when water molecules become cold enough to freeze then then become ice crystals. a single crystallized water molecule is still spread out and light enough to stay in the air. but when it come in contact with other molecule they stick and become heavier till they drop from the air. that's why it snows in the mountains because it's higher up. at lower altitudes that snow flake melts and turns into a water droplet. the process takes too long for every water molecule to suddenly come together at one time and drop out of the air.
like when you leave a cold drink out on a hot day. the moister builds up in little beads. it doesn't all of a sudden become wet right away.
At least i think it's something like that

Coz, there aint enuf water there for rain to pour all at once, so u see, drops make it look as a downpour.

If rain all fell at the same time we would get so wet it wouldn't be funny so it falls in drops so we can dodge them.

(It is kind of like asking why snow falls in drops instend of all at the same time or why all snow flakes are diffrent. no one knows)

Because then it wouldn't be "rain" it would be "lake of water falling" and that's just too much to say. "Hey, it's lake of water falling!"
