is it me or the italian footballers are just vicious? and somehow they don't seem to be punished.

Italians are good divers and not tacklers (with the exception of Gattuso and De Rossi) and are also lucky, the match against ukraine (2 shots with the crossbar and 2 saved on the line show that against a team that when met with a strong side lost 4 - 0) And like others said, I do not think the Italian side ar ethe best, they only played with the worst sided, and on some occasions they struggled, that's all.
@Juventina: You seem to be someone who sees only blue (azzurro) see the reality for once!

1)They are not vicious players. 2)Yes the referee's have been hideous in most cases and 3)I am so tired of everyone assuming every supportive post for the Aussies and non supportive posts for the Italian side are from Australians. They did make other friends and fans too. Why the heck can't people leave comments about Australia out of these Q's that have nothing to do with them.

They dun tackle tough. I agree they complain alot though. But portugal is also good at that, not just italy. Diving, actually many players from many teams are diving in this tournament.
I agree italy was lucky with australia, but they hang on with 10 men, and had better goal chances. About Ukraine having hit the bar or near goal chances, any team can have that in a world cup. Ghana had a near goal against brazil, ecuador had near goal chance against england. But Italy dominated the match.
Dun forget that out of the 4 teams left, italy had the most difficult group with ghana, czech republic and usa, although the latter seemed easy. It's also on paper and pitch the second toughest group. And to come out top against them was harder than the other semis finalists' groups.
Also about them can't win a match without justice, i think they won ghana, czech and ukraine quite clean.

I've given too many criticism towards Italy ... so I'm not going to agree with you that they play rough. No I don't think they're that rough ...
But they DIVE!!! Yes, they're good actors and the football field is almost like an opera stage for them. They fall, they scream, they cry, they asked for a penalty!!! They don't really play football... and they're gonna get kicked on their rear by Germany in semifinal ... DEUTSCHLAND!!!!!

Don't judge players by their nationality. To me, the Portugese play rough due to false pride! Italians are pretty fair physically, but are bad divers.

not onli are they vicious they are also actors and divers(Grosso).maybe they bribed the refs, because italian clubs seem to be doing that alot lately. they shouldnt be in the semis. GO GERMANY

they don't get.
they won what they deserved.
they play well
they are dark horse.
what you think if australia is good in cricket or hockey then it is good in every game.
next time australia will not qualify for prequater finals
