what are some good "weapons" for young women to carry around?

i would like some ideas, i've got a few for my friend. but need more just incase. and not just guns and knives, something else.

hairspray works in a pinch..sometimes when i am walking alone at night i put a roll of dimes or nickels in my hand, at least when i punch someone it might hurt enough for me get away...

Fingernails are great. Keys held between your fingers could do some damage. In the car, carry a baseball bat in the back seat or a lead pipe. These are not certified weapons and you wouldn't get in trouble for using them.

I think it should be required for all women to carry a lazer gun and make sure that all men know that they all have one. Knock them suckers flat on the ground. I wish kids could have them too, but they might use it on a mean brother. lol

Pepper spray, don't buy it from super markets. Shake the can before you spray and never stand against the wind.

yeah, keys between the fingers is good, i think the pepper spray and tazers would be good also. my wife learned some good take downs when she wanted to be a state cop, those are pretty handy.
