Like all human traits, evolution has selected for it to exist. So, there must have been, at some point, an evolutionary advantage for the emotion of hate. Perhaps hate allowed people to conquer those who didn't have the emotion of hate - allowing hate to proliferate by the passing of the haters' genetic material. Seriousness aside, please don't player hate!

I think there are many reasons and answers to this one simple question. It starts off as ( and is ) a dysfunction, but is JUST. It could be that a person had been MOLESTED or RAPED through their life, and now HATES that person(s) for their inability to NOT touch them. As a direct result they can not TRUST and HATE takes over, as they can not mentally get around it. Many will even blame themselves.
There are many people that have had to live with their loved one(s) being MURDERED or KID-NAPPED. HATE is the direct result, naturally. The reality being that family and friends of a victim will never have their loved one(s) in their life and the victims' life is cut short and loses out on their own life experiences.
Then there is RACE and RELIGION. People ( not all ), will HATE others' if they are NOT from the same origin or nation, beliefs or religious spector. A lot of racists, have been raised by racists,it is 'natural' to them to think and believe a certain way, and their way is the ONLY and right way to believe and live. So they HATE when you disagree and say your way is the right way.
If you could just imagine for one moment that if AMERICA; a FREE country in many many aspects, was a big POT and you took off the lid and looked inside, you would find all walks of life and religion, and that is exactly what AMERICA is. The ultimate oppurtunity to live FREE among others' from different nationalities and religion. AMERICA is the most sought out country for dreams and oppurtunity.
There are ,like I said before, many MANY reasons and answers why people HATE. In my eyes, it is not a positive, but is an absolute to many. HATE is by free-will. A choice one makes.

Hate is not an innate characteristic. It's something that is ingrained during childhood. For instance, a child is susceptible to the anger a parent exhibits when someone cuts him/her off on the highway. Also, if a parent displays any intolerance for other races, no matter how remote, the child will pick up on it. People need to teach their children that our differences are what makes this world a wonderful place to live.

Children have no hate, this has been proven over and over. The hate comes from the things that they are taught and the way they are treated.
If your parents were racist bigots then chances are you will be one too.
If you are growing up and one particular person is always giving you a hard time, you may associate that with all the people that are like that person.
But it is all a learned behavior

I think hate isn't really what we portray it to be. I personally think hate is pain, resentment, and frustration. Most of the time these feelings are cause by someone or something. And when you don't/can't express yourself or can't talk to someone about it, it builds up to being bitter towards that person or thing because you can't get these feelings out and you don't like them so you feel bitter towards that person for causing you those feelings which translates into hate. But that's just my opinion.

Most people do hate .. some just take it to the extreme , until they realize it's a complete waste of energy that does absolute nothing to better their lives or make their point .

You hate because you hurt. When someone is hurting emotionally or physically (depending on the extent of the pain) they have a tendency to lash out on the people around them.
I personally believe when you are hurting you feel vulnerable. To many people feeling vulnerable is a sign of weakness, therefore it is easier to lash out and hate (which is a sign of strength to some) than to say they are hurting and feel vulnerable.
That is just my opinion

Hate is really just another word for strong anger.. and anger has many roots - feeling powerless, not getting ones way, scapegoating feelings of inferiority onto another, dogma.. the list goes on and on.
As Yoda said, anger leads to the dark side.

People hate others because they hate themselves.
If one love oneself , he/she can love others.
Right ???
