Hi
Age is no limit to success, at the same time you need practice, training and a great deal of perseverence.
If you are fond of Indian music, get training in hindi classical, because it trains and polishes your voice, and forms the basis of all music. Then you could send in your cassette to programs like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, they just might call you. Browse the internet for music companies holding auditions. But don't disclose your compositions or art work to anyone, they might copy it!!

All the best!!

If singing is your passion, then begin by hours of strict pratice. NEVER LOSE focus on where you want to be 10 years from now.

If you can find a local band to help write an original song that you sing, then seek financial investment support from family; buy some local recording studio time and record the song.

Take the demo tape and find a service that can make mass CD copies of the song. You can find this in the music trade magazines.

Also, hire a photographer to take some "star quality" pictures of you and write a professional, short bio of yourself. Attach with a demo CD, mass mail the package to recording label A & R people and radio stations. You can find addresses for such in Billboard or Radio and Records magazines.

If you happen to get a solid music band to work with you as a team, have Mom, Dad or your older siblings work at 'booking' you for some large parties or weddings. You never know who will be in the audience....maybe someone in the record biz who can open doors for you.

All this takes a lot of hard work and you can NEVER be let down by rejection; it's sadly a part of the music biz. If you belive in yourself and get others to do the same.....you'll find ways to make your dream come true.

I'll leave you with this however: If you do reach superstar status, do you really think you can handle it? That's another thing worth thinking about as well.

There are many ways.

1 is to get singing lessons, your teacher will then put you through to some competitions, if you are good, and you'll gradually get further and further 'up the scale'. You may sing songs your not too keen on at first, but when you get further up, you'll have more freedom of expression.

Another is to listen out for any competitions where the prize is a recording studio (there's one in our school at the moment) etc and join up.

Also listen out for any open spaces in bands etc

Good luck, if it is meant ot happen, it will.

xx
