and does canada even have an army??? i know they have mounties but thats police...what about an army?

yes and it is a good little army, only sad that we have to use it to clean up after USA makes messes and policy failures. What makes Canada so great is tough, we do not think about that so much so it is not so easy to answer. Possibly the fact that it is a rich country with lots of land and resources, that we have a good educational system, a fairly good medical system, very little racism or economic discrimination,( might be some with some of the natives in some provinces, but not as bad as in usa) less violent crime, cleaner cities.
Just naturally great I guess, must be luck

Canada to me has always seemed to walk the middle path. It is not extreme. Yet it is liberal and sensible. When the Vietnam war raged Canada protected those american young men who fled conscription into the army. Canada permits gay marriages. Canadians abroad always seem more worldly and less xenophobic. Canadians build homes with cabling included for phones. Sensible. Canadians build underground shopping malls with under ground transport to them where able so that during the extremely cold winter weather people never have to be exposed to the elements. Their currency always seems to be strong. They have opened their doors to many immigrant cultures when others did not. They just seem to take notice of how things are done the wrong way by neighbouring countries like the U.S. and then do it the right way. To me they seem to have a live and let live policy.

They are located just above the US, they are really open-minded. They are tolerant and acceptive towards every race/religion/sexuality and their society hasnt turned into an anarchist nation that is doomed, unlike what Americans always fear if they allow people to be free for what they are...Which tells us that the problems that the US have, are actually because of the Americans and not because of the immigrants. Also Canada has a great educational system, they treat you for free in hospitals if you are a tax payer, and they dont shoot each other for no reason....actually they dont shoot each other at all. And this is because they are like us, Europeans.

Yes ,we do have army,navy and air force.If you study more about history of Canada,you will find out our soldier were great soldiers in all the War we fought for.Our soldier are still great soldier but we are serving more peaceful duty than fighting.

This is only a general speaking,also Canada is the only real Mu-ti-Cultural country,no matter you are white,black,yellow,red,blue on colour.No matter where you came from ,Africa,Asia,South,central,north America.
No matter you speak English,French,Italian,Spanish,Chinese ...we can accept different races,ages,genders,voices.
