I really want to do something in the music industry (behind the scenes...not producing, but more along the lines of promoting or something) and I'll love working in it no matter what...but I'm not going to lie. I really want to make a lot of money while doing something I enjoy. What positions, other than like President or owner of a label, can make a lot of money while you're young? Or do you just have to struggle forever, and then when you're 50 make the big bucks?

Wow, it's really funny how delusional and TV-like people's perceptions of the entertainment industry are. I'll tell you a little secret-they only give off the appearance that it is so difficult to make it because they want to keep you out. Going to number one on the billboard charts, yes, is difficult; but working behind the scenes and maintaining a moderate lifestyle is fine. what do you think most of LA does? Move to the area where things happen. Go to an accreditted school for mixing or editing music, or all the technical behind the scences crap. Theres tons-and you can make a good living. And who knows, after you develope those skills, you knowledge will lead you to the next big thing. A lot faster than pondering it. Good Luck. My advice:there are two main places to get started-if you are good looking, move to LA; if you are ugly, you better start in NYC, they are more accepting there! Cheers!

Depends on what area of music production you want to be in. If it's sound engineering, for example, there's schools for that and you can find address resources in Billboard, Radio and Records or other "biz trade" magazines focused on music.

But let the buyer beware; something I feel should really be the Golden Rule.

If your interests are along a more business like approach, perhaps taking college courses in corporate business with a minor in music or broadcast journalism might be a ticket worth earning. Such a degree could find you doing corporate office work at a major record label building....and who knows from there. And if anything, you have a pretty decent minor degree of study you can fall back on and still have a career along lines of something you enjoy.

The teeny boppers have ruined music indoors the previous (S club juniors, Mcfly, etc) actual right here indoors the united kingdom. yet there has been a revival in music those days. fairly, the rock/decision and indie genres have had good impacts on the present scene. And thank the Lord too. without them, we'd have reached an all time low. we can't have the skill to anticipate the persons anymore. Their scene has been regrettably overshadowed by utilising the increasing rap/hiphop scene. i might even welcome Take that and All Saints decrease back to the music international. a minimum of they are not the factitious clones that we get those days.
