Call me crazy but I've never seen a "PCI Card" for a notebook. The 2 ports that you can use to get USB 2.0 are PCMCIA Card or an Express Card (which most newer notebooks have). Which ever you have (which more then likely you'll have a PCMCIA card slot) you need to find one that has the USB 2.0 interface. Here is an example of what you will be looking for in PCMCIA:

You need to swap the physical device. If you are using a desktop then this is as simple as remove the side of the case and installing a new card with 2.0 ports.

Fry's would probably have it cheaper than Best Buy : ) Or even generic ones from CompUSA for like 15 bucks. They work. Another suggestion with you configuration would be to up the RAM. XP Pro needs at least 512 to run decent.

you cant upgrade to 2.0 with just a driver. you need to go to best buy and pick up a usb 2.0 pci card to install in your pc.

Your pentium III has USB2.0 on board? if not, you'll need to upgrade your hardware before you get USB2.0
