Because you don't have to put any thought into answering stupid questions or coming up with stupid answers.
Also stupid questions don't usually call for an opinion that you can back up with a coherent argument.
Stupid questions also tend to be band wagon questions so if you don't know the answer just repeat what the person ahead of you said.
Society, in what is a very scary development, has become accepting of answers that are wrong and/or stupid. I don't believe you should tell someone they are unintelligent, but when they are being stupid you need to tell them.
The ignorant loudmouths have also developed, and society has let them, the attitude that they will just keep repeating themselves as loudly as possible no matter what you say and how wrong they are until the person with the intelligent answer just gives in because they have better things to do then argue with an idiot.
And lastly answers to stupid questions are mostly short and don't require the ability to type and use halfway decent English and spelling.

First off...would you consider this a stupid question? Well it really all depends on what your questions were I suppose. Maybe they weren't really all that serious, there are definitely a lot of 'comedians' on here...for those people well they are probably honestly more concerned with getting points rather than trying to give a thought out answer. Just taking the easy way out I guess. Kinda sucks doesn't it. If I were to ask a serious question I would hope more than 2 people would answer it. Also depends on how controversial and/or more opinionated the question was. People like giving their opinions and for those types of questions (opinionated) you will still run into answers you may not like but hey, you asked.
Point being it really all depends on what you asked. Unfortunately that's how it works.

Stupid question get an easy 2 points and hard question takes time to type.
Most people just want to answer easy ones. Less time and well when it takes time to type an answer and all you get is 2 point it is like no really a good incentive to answer hard ones. LOL
Except I like answering all of them.
Plus everyone can't get 10 points I think Yahoo needs to do something different to get people to answer more seriously. Don't You?
Oh that was a question.

I guess it's because it's so easy easy to answer "stupid" questions. They can get 2 points easily. When they don't know the answer to the serious ones, they need search for the answer.
