No, its not bad, just messy. There is nothing bad about it as long as both people involved are ok with it, it grosses some people out. Just lay on a towel, or do it in the shower or something. There is no harmful effects. Actually it is good for the female, it helps ease menstrual cramps.

having sex during you peirod is not bad, and you can not catch anything as long as you with the same person who you know is clean , or if you use protection anyways. which is no diffrent then if you were not having you peirod. but even if you do have sex while on you period you can still get pregnant, just because you days my be diffrent then others. so if your still not sure , why not talk to your doctor, or go to a women's clinic in your area and ask them. so that they can but your mind at ease.
