I already asked this question but again here it is , clarified a bit more:

I have been working at a franchise for 4 months now and 2 months ago my paycheck was lost,by the company, not me! so upon recieving my next paycheck 2 weeks later they decided to add on the amount from the lost paycheck to this one. Well when I recieved my next paycheck another two weeks later, 200.00 had been deducted. When I asked why, I was told it was because i was overpaid on the previous paycheck. Now I try to keep records but we all arent perfect. I was certainly not overpaid, the 200 was for the lost oneand now i am out $200 and as a student, I need that. I tried talking to my manager but he is 18 and stupid and doesnt understand. Is there anything I can do about this? Please help.

Call the corporate office, if there is one, or talk directly to the owner/franchisee. Tell them you never received your first paycheck, that you want them to put a stop payment on it and replace it immediately. That will fix it. If they don't go to the department of labor to file a complaint.

Best defense is to document your hours and make sure they match each weeks schedule. Only if they overpaid you can they make adjustments as best that i know
Your state has specific laws regarding employment - try asking your supervisor to go over the time sheets. You should try to become familiar with your states laws anyway . If they do not have a posted rights for employees then research it in the library. You need to talk to the human resource manager or business exec or owner. An 18 year old manager can be a liability and at best is really a supervisor not a manager really. A manager hires ,fires and oversees all department or business
day to day operations which includes payroll and employee conflict resolutions. If the business is run poorly I would very soon consider another job. Try putting together a logical letter to document your problem and just have it as a back up if you need it . Times and dates and specifics usually get action. This is a good practice in case you have to deal with health insurance problems too later in life lol
