I have been friends with this guy for a couple years and we were abot to start dating. However he just got convicted for a previous offence and he's behind bars. I wanted to contact him somehow and let him know I haven't forgotten him but I don't know how. I called the local prison and asked them if they allow letters or visits, they said no. Does that make sense? I won't give up, I don't want him to think I've forgoten him. How can i get in touch with him? Please help!

do they really not allow letters? Or is that just until after trial?

take it from someone (me) who spent alot of time locked-up you first got to find where hes at.Remember Jail is before, during and immediately after court, Prison is way after court. If you know where hes at look up their website. What i would suggest and i promise it works ask for the Jail adminisrater or warden whatever the title and bug the you know what out of them until you get your answer .1 day of good phone tag should do it. good luck and remember a letter or phone call in jail has 100 times the meaning as it does in the free world

Ya know what? WALK AWAY! You CAN do BETTER!!!
Trust me, I have been invloved with PB (we call him prison break cause he leaves prison and I put him right back in) for 6 years. He is there for a reason, prison is a BIG deal. It never goes away and he WILL go back! And you will be hurt. While you can, WALK AWAY! there is someone better out there...patience is a virtue!

Sounds like he's bad news anyway. Are you inviting trouble in your life? Maybe there's a reason you can't contact him! Dump him and find someone who can manage to stay out of jail.

Call the Department of Corrections and ask for their mailing address. Also ask for his DC #. Explain the situation and they should be able to help you out.

if the prison said no, it's no. let it go. If he wants to get in touch with you, he will. However, since you don't mention what he's in jail for... let it go.
