How can I get my 11 mo. old not to roll over and fall asleep on her tummy. I had a wedge that kept her in place, but that's useless now that she's all over the place.

Not going to co sleep w/ her. I did this once and she nearly fell off of the bed. I, too, don't want to start that attachment and have her feel that she "needs" to sleep with my husband and myself.

There is no need to. Once your baby starts to roll over you can not stop him. If he is able to roll over than he is able to move his head to be able to breath. If you are really worried about it contact your doctor that what I did.

At 11 months....normal healthy babies can turn their heads from side to side to avoid suffocation. She is probably close to walking or even walking at this point. They are not dumb, just little curious humans. If your infant is behind in average development for her age, talk to your doctor.
Honestly, my son was sleeping on his stomach at 3 months, and at times, even earlier than that and he is almost 2 1/2 years old and healthy. A lot of the guidelines are based on the occasions of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) occurrences and they still haven't figured out why it really happens. It's precautionary, but with an 11 month old you are pushing the 1 year mark and it really depends on the child and her development up to this point.

It's less of a concern now, and no, you really can't do anything. The thing about putting a baby on its back has to do with when it is small and can't roll over. Once they are too big for special pillows, etc., they're on their own, so to speak.

an 11 month old is way past the point of having to worry about SIDS. Once my kids started rolling, they slep better on their tummy. I wouldn't worry about it.

Both my kids slept on their bellies. It was comfortable to them- they wouldn't sleep on their backs. Just make sure there are no stuffed animals by her face. I asked the Dr if I should be worried, he said after 4 months its ok because they can pick up their heads by themselves. So I wouldn't worry at 11 months.

It's fine for her to roll around in bed. It's good for her to move around while she sleeps at this age.

as long as she can roll over and lift her head to turn it from side to side then she can sleep on her tummy, its fine.

She's too old for SIDS. Let her sleep on her tummy.

Just be careful to remove any cover that might get over his/her head, dress them so they will be comfortable...if they are sleeping peacefully--Amen!--count your blessings and ask God to keep watch while you sleep.
