The only thing that can travel at the speed of light is light. So basically yes.

The question cannot be answered. No particle of finite rest mass can achieve the speed of light as that would require that the mass become infinite. Since a human obviously has a finite rest mass, travel at the speed of light is not possible.

Tom;

You bring up a good point.

I think that in order to do so, a very special craft would be required. I don't think that We will ever just "pop around" at the Speed of Light like we see on the screen.

The proper craft would have to be able to withstand the heat, friction and turbulence, along with who knows what else as a result of moving at an insane speed.

We know barely the tip of the iceberg of what is PRESENTLY possible, the future will blow our minds.

If you are standing still and the person travling at the speed of light passes you, yes they would only seem as light.

If you are in the ship or what not with others doing the light speed, it would seem as nothing is going on. At that speed air turbulance, etc would not be a factor. But everything you saw outside your ship would look like only light.

If I understand general relativity correctly, it is impossible to travel at the speed of light due to the fact that as you approach it, your mass would become exponentially greater, working against your acceleration.

No, not necessarily, but you would have to be massless to travel at that speed (barring any clever curvature of space to get around relativity). Of course matter can never be massless so you would have to be annihilated to actually travel at the speed of light - and then would you still be you?

Just performed a gedankenexperiment,and realized that its all relative.To yourself you would be the same,but to an observer you would be light.Although science(today) says you cannot travel at the speed of light,I can in my mind,therefore it can be done.

Yes, becouse every particle reaches the speed of light it will direclty changes into photons

The human is great number of particles so if he reached the speed of light, he will directlly changes into photons

effectively yes. For a human to turn into light, it would be very bright indeed! you would need to use the formula E= mc^2 and since c is so large. It would be huge!

No. You wouldn't have to become light to travel as fast as light. Nutrinos can go faster than light, but they are not light.

To go the speed of sound, do we have to become sound? No.
