When I launch Explorer, I get a window from Popcorn.com claiming that I signed up for a three day trial, and since I didn't cancel within those 3 days I now owe them. I never signed up for anything. There is no way to get in touch with anyone, no customer service - I can't figure out how to get in touch with anyone with the website. I believe this has to be a scam, with the use of scare tactics (you have a legal obligation to pay). After it happened the first time I scanned my computer and found five files associated with it and deleted them all. Since then I have found two more and deleted them as well. Anyone know how to get rid of it, and also how to report it and who I should report it to? Thanks much!

You got hit by spyware. Try adware or spybot, perhaps they can get rid of them.

If they can't do the job then SpyCatcher can stop the mess, but it is a little more interfering of an anti-spyware program. All of them are free programs.

Run AVG (if you don't have it, get it) it will remove the embedded files in the reg. too. It is a scam. Do not pay them any money.

AVG from GRIsoft is the best free V-scan currently out there.
Just type AVG in to your Yahoo search bar and you will get a list of several links where you can down load it for free.

download adaware and spybot from downloads.com. Run each program as directed and after your done see if you still have the problem. I went to popcorn.com and it is a bogus website. It just displays some search results so you probably have spyware.
You should also read this article on how to degunk your PC.

I'd look in add/remove software to see if you have something stored there first. If not, open search and type in the webname. When something comes up, delete them all. Look in drive C.
